Up for sale is a wonderful Western American landscape oil painting dating to the first half of the 20th century and one personally that I absolutely love. Executed in oil on wood panel this piece is initialed in the lower right corner "M.W." but unfortunately I am not familiar with who the artist is. The brushwork and colors used are absolutely striking creating an overall breathtaking composition especially when hung on the wall. Each individual brushstroke is visible as seen in the river giving the water motion and an overall dynamic feeling. The condition is perfect other than some regular surface dirt which could easily be cleaned. The original blue and white frame measures 18.5 x 15 inches (shows some minor blemishes) while the painting measures 13.5 x 9.25 inches. An original gallery paper label is present verso indicating this work retailed through "K. Ishiwata & Co.". The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine western landscape but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
