Up for sale is a killer WPA era linocut print depicting what appears to be a party / large gathering of people inside an oil lamp lit room. The viewer stands outside looking into the party through two set of large open doors with light bursting out. Figures are seen on the porch possibly gathered at a table playing cards and a figure seen sitting on the ground with a basket of food. A lively scene the inside of the building is packed with en wearing hats and women wearing dresses. The print is inscribed "To; H.C." and illegibly signed by the artist "C.B. Nells"? followed by the date 1938. Resting in a thin silver metal frame mesuring 14.25 x 14.25 inches while the print measures 10 3/4 x 10 1/8 inches. The quality, style and execution of the prints is really wonderful and looks great when hung. The condition of the print shows some discoloration / light foxing as well as some creases that run from the top down as shown in the 10th and 11th image. The images provided accurately represents the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine WPA era linocut print but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
