Up for sale is an exquisite impressionist seascape oil painting on board showing waves crashing up against the rocky coast. This work is well executed and unfortunately unsigned. While the verso in inscribed “To Frank” the the name that follows is illegible and may or may not be that of the artists. Given as a gift in May of 1949 this painting does have an inventory number of 3625 written top right verso in ink as shown in the images. Resting in a contemporary frame that measures 19 x 15 inches the painting measures 12 x 16 inches and is absolutely wonderful when displayed. The brushwork is not only bold and confident adding a sense of motion and lifelike nature but the colors are eye popping. The blues are bright and vivid really attracting your eye when passing by. The condition is overall very good other than some frame wear around its edges.
