Up for sale is a fantastic original oil painting by the rare German artist Ludwig Von Roekler depicting a fine German street scene. This work is executed in oil on canvas showing a number of subjects taking part in their everyday lives from woman getting water from a well with a baby in one arm to two blacksmiths working in the fire lower left. Chickens roam the cobblestone streets as a dog sits by a watches with a beautiful white horse. This calming and relaxing scene is expertly painted and in exceptional condition for being painted in 1908. This work has been well taken care of free from any punctures, rips, tears and repairs having just an appropriate amount of minor craquelure. The painting is signed in the lower right corner as well as along the top stretcher bar verso. Resting in what appears to be its original gold wood frame the condition of it is absolutely excellent and visually stunning!
