Leroy Neiman was born in  1921 in Saint Paul , Minnesota and during his later life was considered the greatest American artist who was still alive. The majority of his pieces depict sporting events and leisure activities including the Olympics, Superbowl, World Series, Kentucky Derby, PGA and The Masters golf tournament, World Equestrian Games, and Wimbledon. After serving as a cook through WWII Leroy began to be recognized for his art and was put to use painting sets for the Red Cross theatre shows. He studied at St. Paul School of Art, and then at The Art Institute of Chicago while on the G.I. Bill. Leroy Neiman began his career by illustrating for Playboy magazine which he continued up until his death in 2012. Neiman has since achieved such a beloved and dedicated group of collectors after his works due to his bright, colorful, and energetic filled compositions which most people cant help but fall in love with.

This limited edition serigraph "Bar at 21", is full of color and energy as the full bar is bustling with many people chatting, drinking and having a great time socializing. So much color, movement and energy is present in this piece which is a perfect example of why Neiman's pieces are so loved. This is a fine piece numbered 132/300 printed in 1977. Measuring in total an outstanding 28 x 41 inches this is a large and stunning textured serigraph. Currently unframed this work has succumb to some yellowing of the margins and has a small tear to the top right corner as seen in the provided images. With Leroy's large and easily definable signature at the bottom right, this is a great serigraph by which most would classify as the most recognizable American artists of the late 20th century. This print will be safely rolled in a large tube.
