Regarded as one of the founding fathers of Lebanese painting, this work is executed in watercolor on paper and is a subject he quite liked to paint. Having a particular fondness for gazelle this painting measures 13 x 19.25 inches while its period wood frame measures 16.75 x 22.75 inches. Signed “O. Onsi” low right, a near identical composition interestingly resides in the collection of Mr. Samir Abillamah. Composed of wonderful delicate brush strokes and soft subtle colors, this charming painting is quite beautiful only becoming more attractive as one continues to digest. The condition of the painting shows overall even toning and minimal / original imperfections to the sheet while its frame shows some light wear.
