Executed in oil on canvas this large unstretched painting measures an impressive 38 x 50 3/4 inches and is signed twice low right “Nils Obel” and verso. Depicting a human skull among a rocky ground, possibly on the ocean floor, two creatures swim over head cast against a background transitioning from deep blue to cool orange. This painting is a fine example from the artist and once framed will look outstanding on the wall! The painting has been stored rolled and while in overall good condition there is some vertical craquelure present as well as waviness which should be corrected when stretched.
