Up for sale is an exquisite oil painting by the talented Italian painter Augusto Lovatti. Depicting a wonderful grouping of cacti on the island of Capri, Italy; this impressionist painting is a fine example from the rarely seen artist. Yellow flowers and tall grass lead to the cactus which are backed with a line of taller trees all painted under a lovely blue sky with white clouds. Signed low right “A. Lovatti - Capri”, this painting measures 17.75 x 12 inches while its later wood frame measures 19.25 x 13.5 inches. The condition shows some discoloration from surface dirt / grime and a partial rip/scuff left center (seen in the 5th and last photograph).
