Up for sale is a beautiful 19th-century portrait by the talented Parisian artist Leon-Lucien Goupil depicting a beautiful young lady in profile. Executed in oil on wood panel this work rests in its wonderfully beautiful gold gesso fluted frame and is ready to be hung and enjoyed. The sitter is painted wearing a fine red hat, teardrop-shaped earrings with a soft, serene expression on her face as her blue eyes look upward. The work is signed in the upper left corner “L. Goupil” and is inscribed verso along the top of the frame “D.M. Cartier”. The painting is in excellent condition and the frame while also quite nice shows minimal chipping.
