Up for sale is an exceptionally rare bronze relief (Master Copy) sculpture by Sir William Reid Dick depicting a portrait of King George VI. Dating from 1952, this is one of two recorded memorial reliefs executed for the king as commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II, both of which are recorded in Dennis Wardleworth’s 2013 publication, “William Reid Dick, Sculptor”. Measuring 22.5 x 16 inches, the condition shows decades of beautiful green patination. The only other example of this relief I was able to locate is at Darby & Joan Hall in Bourne, UK. This is an exceptional bronze relief done by Sir William Reid Dick as commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate and remember the life of her father. The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this portrait of King George VI but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
