Up for sale is an exceptionally rare and beautiful painting by the talented Lebanese born painter Moussa M. Domit (1932-2005). This untitled abstract composition is worked in oil on canvas board measuring 16 x 12 inches, signed low right “M. Domit” and dated verso 1966. Primarily known for his roles in American museums first serving as the curator for the National Gallery of Art, then director of the N.C. Museum of Art, Director of the Dixon Gallery in Memphis before finally becoming the founding director of the Appleton Gallery. This painting is beautifully executed with fine brushwork and color clearly attesting to his masterful understanding of the arts, particularly impressionism and abstraction. This work is in excellent condition showing minimal blemish.
