Ralph Cone was born in Ireland and later moved to the North Eastern United States. Painting many compositions in Maine this harbor scene is believed to also be of the state wonderfully showing these docked boats with houses in the background. The fall colors of orange, red and yellows creates a highly aesthetic piece to view. Cone was very good at painting with thick visible applications of paint which can be very well seen in the trees and ground adding depth, motion and texture. The condition is good overall but it does show some minimal condition issues such as craquelure and dirt / grime to the surface. Their are no punctures, tears, rips or repairs and is ready to be framed and hung on the wall.
