Up for sale is a rare and exceptional limited edition, pencil signed Marc Chagall etching from his 105 image series “La Bible,”, titled “Exodus from Egypt”. Moses is shows low left leading the people of Israel through the desert while God is shown above in a guiding pillar with a green winged angel. This crowded and chaotic scene shows countless figures scared being led into the wilderness and clustered together as they flee the Egyptian and the oppression faced for centuries. This fine and crisp impression is from the edition of 100 as seen low left and is pencil signed by Chagall low right.

The plate measures 9.75 x 12.5 inches while the matt window measures 10.5 x 13.5 inches and overall frame 22.75 x 25.75 inches. Dating from 1958 this etching is accompanied by an old paper label indicating it was purchased from the New Art Center Gallery located in New York City presumably around the time of publishing. This has been attractively framed and rests under museum acrylic making it ready to be hung and enjoyed! The condition shows expected / normal light toning and while the delicate hand coloring still bright surely shows minimal fade.
