Franz von Stuck is best known for his art nouveau style and mythological inspired subject matter that was not only striking but highly appreciated during his lifetime. This original etching entitled "Forellenweiher" or "Trout Pond" dates from circa 1890 and is a rare image occasionally popping up at auction. This work is signed in the plate low left and signed in pencil low right "Franz v. Stuck". In what's believed to be its original gold frame; Stuck was extremely deliberate in which he used to display his works making this etching become a little more special. The condition is phenomenal with no scratches, folds or tears other than the moderate toning of the paper which could be reversed. The prints impression is crisp and warm.
