Up for sale is a gorgeous 19th century landscape oil painting of Northern England's Lake District. Showing stacked mountains in the distance and a lake at the works center, the foreground is decorated with birch trees and delicate orange and white flowers. Signed in the low left corner "CH. Spooner" this work is executed in oil on canvas measuring 20 x 30 inches while its original wood frame measures 24 x 34 1/4 inches. Dated 1879 this painting is in excellent restored condition, with in painting and has been relined. The frame shows loss to its gold gesso as well as general wear. The overall level of execution and attractiveness of the painting is excellent making this ready to be hung on the wall and enjoyed!
