Up for sale is an absolutely wonderful Junichiro Sekino woodblock depicting a small Japanese mountain village possibly from the artists’s series “Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido”. Printed circa 1970’s this fine limited edition woodblock (edition 70/182) shows three traditional style homes in front of a set of mountains with an attractive reoccurring tree design pattern. Signed in the lower right corner of the print “Juni Sekino” the work shows the artists chop just above as well as the artist’s name watermarked into the paper as shown photographed. The condition of the print is fabulous with its retained soft colors of blue on an incredibly clean and crisp sheet making this rare example extremely charming and fine to view. Currently unframed, the work will be shipped flat.
