Peter Winslow Milton was born in 1930 and is a world renown American artist for his etchings and engravings which ofter show an extraordinary amount of photo like detail. He has achieved the status of a visionary aesthetic master in his pieces which usually are architecture, myth, history, and memory. Peter received his Master of Fine Art degree from Yale University in 1961 and since his works have been in most major museums in the U.S. and Europe including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, British Museum, Tate Gallery, and Bibiltheque Nationale.

This etching in particular is a very early one from his career entitled "The Hill" dated 1967 only five years after graduating from Yale. It is a most beautiful little etching and captures his early style which he preferred to study landscapes and seasons before exploring architecture. I spoke directly with his personal assistant and she clearly told me that this etching "The Hill" is the only one she knows about besides the one in Peters own master collection. This piece is in absolute mint condition and framed with archival materials.
