Leroy Neiman was born in  1921 in Saint Paul , Minnesota and during his later life was considered the greatest American artist who was still alive. The majority of his pieces depict sporting events and leisure activities including the Olympics, Superbowl, World Series, Kentucky Derby, PGA and The Masters golf tournament, World Equestrian Games, and Wimbledon. After serving as a cook through WWII Leroy was began to be recognized for his art and were put to use painting sets for the Red Cross shows. He studied at St. Paul School of Art, and then at The Art Institute of Chicago while on the G.I. Bill. Leroy Neiman began his career by illustrating for Playboy magazine which he continued up until his death in 2012. Neiman has since achieved such a beloved and dedicated group of collectors after his works due to his bright, colorful, and energetic filled compositions which most people cant help but fall in love with.

This limited edition etching entitled "Two Racers" is part of Neiman's Skiing Folio which comprises of ten etchings. The condition is very fine with minor toning, no tears, rips, creases etc... With full margins and the original frame this is a wonderful limited edition and signed etching. Signed in pencil in the lower right with Leroy Neiman's full signature as well as numbered in the lower left hand corner 83/150. Printed in 1972 by Circle Gallery ltd. the International Gallery for Graphics it has its original paper provenance on the reverse. This etching is still in its original thin black wood frame which has very minor cosmetic blemishes and it wonderfully suites the etching.
