Born 1894 in Vienna, Austria, Paul Kujal studied with professor Rudolf von Weyr and improved well as an artist from his studying trips to Switzerland, Italy and France. His works of art have been exhibited in Vienna in the "Glaspalast", "Segantinibund" and "Sezession"; his works became popular in the United States and are now held in many private collections.

This original and outstanding oil painting on canvas by Paul Kujal depicts an old European village with multiple houses, individuals in the front right and large white voluminous clouds overhead. The composition is quite striking to the eye making anyone who passes stop to take a better look and large measuring approximately 41 x 31 inches in total while the canvas measures 36 x 24 inches. Signed in the lower right "Kofler", this was his pseudonym which he frequently signed. The condition is excellent with no tears, rips, repairs, punctures etc... By far this is one of the most impressive examples of Kujal's works that have been available resting in its period frame appearing to be original which has minor cosmetic blemishes. The old varnish has yellowed and would benefit from a good clean, this would make the colors vibrant and add depth to the overall picture.
