This beautiful little etching by the scarcely seen English printmaker Henry Percy Huggill depicts a traditional street scene in Liverpool. This etching is an artist proof as noted by the blind stamp in the bottom left corner that sits just outside the plate mark. This is also nicely signed in pencil "H. Huggill" in the bottom right corner. This etching was published by the Gainsborough Galleries in Liverpool in 1919 as stated by the tiny writing that is in the top of the plate seen in the last two photos. This etching depicts a beautiful english street scene with the teetering buildings disappearing into the center of its single line perspective composition. Women are bustling about the front of the buildings on the left side.

This etching is framed in a gold with green trim wood frame that measures approximately 26 x 22 inches and the plate mark of the etching measures 10 x 9 inches. The glass is anti reflective glass which can cause some blurring when trying to photograph. The image is a nice dark, and crisp artist proof impression. The matting has some foxing as seen in the photos as well as the etching. Besides the light foxing to the etching and some slight wear to the frame this is in great condition!
