Armand Henrion was born May 30th, 1875 in the small Belgium town of Liege, and died in Paris in 1958. Armand while he was born in Belgium was considered a painter from the French School where he lived and became a citizen. He became wildly known for his portraits and figures in impressionists style especially of his clowns which were self portraits of himself. He had many exhibitions in French salons and now his pieces are quite a nice find bringing in high prices with every auction they show up in.

This small etching entitled "Clown with Cigarette" is a beautiful example of Henrion's work. This hand colored etching is of high quality and while it is small compared to most of his etchings it's just a miniature example of those larger. No quality is lost which is a beautiful reality especially being part of a edition of 500. The frame measures  10 x 11 inches and is professionally framed with archival materials from a gallery in the Bay area.
