Available now is one of five original James B. Woods paintings that I currently have for sale with each work depicting a significant Jewish holiday. These original paintings by Woods were used by Royal Doulton in the mid 1980’s to create a special line of Judaic collectors plates and are some of the fines works of art that I have had the pleasure to own. This painting is entitled “Passover” depicting a group of seven figures partaking in the holy meal. This original painting is absolutely stunning painted with the finest attention to detail and color use. Every detail of the wood grain in the chair is visible along with each strand of hair of each of the individuals. My favorite aspect of this painting is the actual invitation it gives to the viewer. Take notice of the cracked door that is showing part of the city at night and an empty chair closet to it. The woman present low right is turned around looking directly at the viewer. These three little details is the artist personally inviting us into the scene and to partake in this most holy of meals. In phenomenal overall condition the painting does not show any damage and has remained in its original state since first being executed nearly 40 years ago. Resting in a gold wood frame which measures 17 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches the painting has a 10 3/8 inch diameter and has been re-backed with new conservation paper and wire making it ready to be hung and enjoyed. The only cosmetic imperfection is some loss of color and scuffing to the frame.

The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!

As noted above this is one of five original gouache paintings I currently have for sale from the master painter James B. Woods depicting Jewish holidays / ceremonies so if interested in other please take a look and or send me a message.
